Practice Retirement

Last week, I spent the week in Chicago at the National Association of Personal Financial Advisor‘s (NAPFA’s) National Conference.  It was a great week of meeting friends and learning more about how I can better help our clients.

During one of the sessions, the concept of working a little longer while practicing retirement was presented.  Enjoying life today while preparing for financial independence is a topic I often discuss with clients.   Nobody knows what tomorrow brings and while it is important to save, it is equally important to enjoy life today.  Life is about balance.

I liked the tool/training manual that was presented by Christine Fahlund, PhD., CFP(r), from T.Rowe Price.  The training manual is a tool to be used by people who want to take a first step in preparing for what retirement can look like and defining their ideal scenario.
